Transport materials efficiently and safely with goods web handling

When processing web materials, web handling, including web guiding, is of great importance. Only in this way can manufacturers guarantee efficient and gentle transport of web materials. In addition to the standard material guidance via rollers, additional machine components are sometimes required for special process steps. Krögel Maschinenbau offers a wide range of special machines that are specifically designed to optimise our customers’ production processes.

Rotary crosses

Our turner bars allow the direction of the web to be changed by 90° or 180°. Fixed turning tubes or rods mounted at a 45° angle to the longitudinal and transverse axes of the web deflect the web by 90° with a 180° wrap. Turning crosses are primarily used to turn webs and then precisely transfer them to the next process step. A combination of two turntables can be used to divert the material flow in the opposite direction. This means that production lines can be arranged in parallel to reduce the overall length of such systems. Turntables work well with other systems such as conveyors or belt conveyors.

Trolleys

Docking trolleys are ideal for winding large diameter and heavy weight rolls. Winding can be carried out either on special fixed winding frames or on mobile docking carriages. A major advantage of this system is its long uptime and short changeover times. Depending on the application, these can be adapted to meet specific customer requirements. They can also be easily integrated with other production stations.

Suction tables

Suction tables allow workpieces to be positioned ergonomically. Integrated vacuum technology keeps the material firmly in place on the table, preventing it from slipping during the process step.

Suction belts are used to hold web material in place on a perforated conveyor belt and simultaneously transport it to the next process step. Especially unstable web material can be transported gently.

Conveyor belts

We offer conveyor belts for the continuous transport of sheet material over defined distances. Conveyor belts are used to link individual process steps and as buffers to regulate the flow of material. Their use minimises unproductive transport times and ensures a continuous, reliable flow of material. Conveyor belts are a simple and cost-effective transport solution that is particularly suitable for light products and workpieces, as well as sheet goods.

Depending on the products to be transported, we design and build conveyor belts in a wide range of variations. Our range includes a variety of conveyor belt designs with different drive systems. This allows us to tailor the conveyor belt to the exact requirements of your local production environment.

Spreader systems

Spreader systems are successfully used wherever smooth, crease-free guidance of different fabric webs is required. They are mainly used upstream of precision production steps to prevent wrinkles and maintain uniform tension across the web. Spreader systems are particularly used upstream of slitting systems or coating and laminating processes. Depending on the characteristics of the material and the subsequent process, you can choose from a wide range of spreader systems such as bow rollers, cord or lamella spreader holders, brush spreader rollers, spiral rollers, etc.

In addition to preventing wrinkles, spreader systems are also used to spread the web. They are therefore used after slitting to separate the individual web strips prior to winding. This spreading allows multiple-ups to be wound without edge overlap. A spreading effect is created from the first contact between the spreader roll and the web.

In principle, all spreader systems can be easily installed in all critical areas of a line. These systems are used in the textile, paper and film industries.

Which web handling is the right one?

There are a number of factors to consider when selecting a suitable web handling machine, the most important of which is what my production process requires. The type of material to be handled is also important. The local production conditions are also important to ensure that the chosen system meets the requirements.

We are happy to offer you a bespoke material handling solution. We will work closely with you to develop a suitable system. If you wish, we can visit you and take a look at your production on site.
